The bridge was part of the overall Route 1/ 130 Interchange Project which also involved other bridges, including the multi span Curved Girder Viaduct type bridge over Route1 carrying the southbound Route 1 to Route 130. The fascia wall had architectural features for aesthetics. The bridge has two wide sidewalks on both sides. The abutments were MSE Wall abutments with the bridge seat supported on a single row of piles. The use of 70 ksi steel was evaluated to reduce to depth of girders. |
