Final Design and Construction Support Services for the New Davidson Road Bridge at Rutgers University Campus, New Brunswick, New Jersey Part of the Route 18 2A Project

Performed bridge and roadway approach design for a new two span continuous steel girder bridge over Davidson Road at the Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The bridge was part of the overall Route 18 Section 2A Improvement Project which also involved other bridges, including the multi span John Lynch Bridge over the Raritan River. The center pier was wall type pier with architectural formliners for aesthetics. The full height abutments also contained architectural features. The bridge was on a horizontal curve and careful consideration was given to the geometry and ‘fit’ during construction.
