The project involves the design of two bridges at Interchange 8, as part of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s Interchange 6 to 9 Widening Program.  The S-Turn Bridge over NJ Turnpike main line is a three (3) span continuous structure with spans ranging from 90 ft. to 140 ft.  The U-Turn Bridge over entrance and exit ramps near the toll plaza is a two (2) span continuous structure, with spans ranging from 105 ft. to 170 ft.  Preliminary design includes preparation of bridge sketches, alternative analysis and the preparation of Structure Reports.  Final design will include the design of two structures, including the design for a two (2) level seismic event, and the preparation of bid documents.
