The assignment involved the evaluation of an existing parking lot and providing recommendations for its reconfiguration to increase the parking spaces. SJH visited the site and conducted a visual inspection of the existing parking spaces and the parking areas around Marvlag Manor and Elizabeth Housing Authority (EHA) offices. We also reviewed the existing design and as-built drawings and the actual configuration of the parking areas. Using this information we reconfigured the parking lot to increase the number of parking spaces significantly. The as-built drawings of the present parking lot locations were used as a background for the proposed modifications to the parking area. SJH reviewed the Land Development Control Ordinance (LDCO) of the City of Elizabeth New Jersey and prepared recommendation report for EHA.

Community Center - Reconstruction of Parking Lot
During this project, SJH Engineering, P.C. designed new parking lot at the Community Center of Elizabeth Housing Authority.  We produced design drawings, specifications and an estimate for the construction of this new parking lot. The construction involved earthwork, reconstructing concrete curbs, asphalt concrete paving including sub-base, sidewalk replacement, tree removal, landscaping and the installation of catch basins and associated drainage piping
