The project involved the inspection of over 1,500 schools in the City of New York. The inspection includes all the appurtenances in the schools, including the HVAC systems, Code Compliance items, Structural items and Electrical items. This is part of an annual program to inspect and identify the needs of the schools in the City.
Under this project SJH Engineering provided several team members, including architects, structural engineers, and electrical and mechanical engineers, to the PB Americas, Inc. team. Each inspection team comprised of a Registered Architect, a Structural Engineer, an Electrical Engineer, and a Mechanical Engineer. Team members used pen-based handheld computers to record the field information to update the existing database of school building condition information. Team members checked whether buildings meet NY State Department of Education regulations or not, and determined the status of previously cited violations vis-à-vis current deficiencies. Provided an Annual Final Report with Executive Summary. Provided the State Education Report in an SCA approved format. |
